The CUT5000S Series was developed for the industrial series production of EPS and XPS parts.
Unlike the CUT4000S, the cutting frame remains stationary. The machine table with the material moves through the cutting frame. This machine concept is particularly designed for repetitive cutting tasks and high production output.
The machine operates exclusively with vertically arranged cutting wires. The standard configuration includes 10 cutting wires; optionally, the CUT5000S can be equipped with up to 20 wires.
Available options include independent YL/YR positioning with up to 10° skew, a powered conveyor belt and roller tables.

The CUT5000S Series was developed for companies that want to produce large quantities of identical or repetitive parts from EPS and XPS economically and reproducibly.
With 10 vertically arranged cutting wires, multiple identical contours can be cut simultaneously in a single operation. Optionally, the machine can be expanded to up to 20 cutting wires, further increasing production output.
The stationary cutting frame and moving machine table provide a robust machine concept for continuous production use. Options such as a powered conveyor belt and roller tables allow the machine to be adapted to different material flows and production processes.
Typical applications include profiles, pipe insulation sections, formwork elements, molded parts and technical cut parts.
The CUT5000S Series was developed for industrial multi-wire production. The solid steel construction, stationary cutting frame and moving machine table provide the basis for a robust and reproducible production process.
As standard, the machine operates with 10 vertically arranged cutting wires. Optionally, the system can be expanded to up to 20 cutting wires.
Additional options such as independent YL/YR positioning with up to 10° skew, powered conveyor belt and roller tables allow the machine to be adapted to different production tasks and material flows.
The CUT5000S is designed for vertical multi-wire cutting of EPS and XPS. The cutting frame remains stationary during the cutting process, while the machine table with the material moves through the cutting wires.
As standard, the machine is equipped with 10 vertically arranged cutting wires. This allows multiple identical contours or parts to be produced simultaneously in a single operation.
The solid steel construction and robust machine table are designed for continuous production use. The open design allows easy loading and unloading of the material.
Standard equipment also includes the 2-axis CNC control, automatic current control, machine software, LAN controller and operator panel.
In the standard configuration, the cutting wires of the CUT5000S are tensioned by a mechanical spring system. The springs compensate for the change in length of the heated cutting wires and keep the wires tensioned during the cutting process.
The cutting wires can be installed and removed without tools. This allows wire changes and adjustments to the wire positions to be carried out with minimal effort.
The wire spacing can be adjusted according to the required contour or workpiece arrangement.
The CUT5000S features automatic current control for the cutting wires. The power supply provides the electrical power required for the thermal cutting process.
The control system supports a consistent wire temperature and therefore reproducible cutting conditions when processing EPS and XPS.
The cutting power can be adjusted to different wire lengths, numbers of wires, materials and applications and remains stable throughout the production process.
The CUT5000S Series is equipped with a 2-axis CNC control configured for the machine.
The control coordinates the movement of the machine table and the vertical cutting system, enabling reproducible production of the programmed contours.
Machine movements and cutting programs are controlled and monitored via the machine software on the connected Windows PC.
The CUT5000S is supplied with the required machine software and LAN controller for communication between the Windows PC and CNC control.
Cutting programs are loaded, started and monitored using the machine software. Machine functions and cutting parameters can also be operated directly from the Windows PC.
Communication between the computer and machine takes place via a LAN connection and is designed for stationary use in a production environment.
A Windows PC with an available LAN port is required for operation. The machine can optionally be supplied with a preconfigured Computer System.
The CUT5000S Series can be expanded with various machine options and accessories depending on the production task. This allows the system to be specifically adapted to different production quantities, contours and material flows.
As standard, the CUT5000S is equipped with 10 vertically arranged cutting wires.
Optionally, the multi-wire system can be expanded to up to 20 cutting wires. For suitable applications, this allows more identical contours to be produced simultaneously in a single operation.
This expansion is particularly suitable for repetitive production tasks where high throughput and short processing times are important.
Optionally, the two sides of the cutting system YL and YR can be positioned independently.
This allows the cutting wires to be skewed by up to 10°, enabling angled or tapered parts to be produced in addition to parallel contours.
This option extends the capabilities of the CUT5000S, particularly for applications where the contour is not intended to run parallel across the entire width of the workpiece.
For automated material transport, the CUT5000S can optionally be equipped with a powered conveyor belt.
This allows the material to be moved in a controlled manner on the machine table and integrated into the production process.
This option is particularly suitable for series production and production lines where material infeed and outfeed need to be organized efficiently.
Roller tables can optionally be installed in front of and behind the machine.
They simplify the infeed and outfeed of larger workpieces and support a consistent material flow through the production system.
Combined with the powered conveyor belt, the CUT5000S can be easily integrated into existing production processes.
Optionally, we supply the CUT5000S with a preconfigured Windows PC for machine operation.
The required machine software is already installed and configured. This reduces the effort required during commissioning and prepares the system for communication with the CNC control.
Depending on the required configuration, the Computer System can be combined with a monitor, keyboard and mouse.
The CUT5000S can optionally be equipped with a barcode scanner.
Order-specific cutting programs can be uniquely assigned via barcode and opened in the machine software.
This helps reduce operator errors and allows repetitive production jobs to be started faster and more reliably.
For creating cutting programs, we recommend our styroCAM CAM software.
For the CUT5000S, styroCAM - CAM Software Hot Wire Multi-Wire is used. The software supports the creation of cutting programs for vertical multi-wire cutting.
Existing drawing data can be imported in formats including DXF, DWG and PLT and prepared for machining on the CUT5000S.
The use of styroCAM is not mandatory. Alternatively, any suitable CAM software that generates ISO G-code can be used.
The CUT5000S is assembled, adjusted and fully function-tested at our factory. For transport, the machine is supplied in transport-optimized assemblies. Assembly and commissioning at the installation site can be carried out by the customer or optionally by our service technician. The standard scope of delivery includes:
The CUT5000S can be used with different vector, CAD and CAM programs to create drawings and cutting programs.
For generating the machine programs, we recommend our styroCAM CAM software. However, the use of styroCAM is not mandatory. Alternatively, any suitable CAM software that generates ISO G-code can be used.
Any suitable vector software can be used to create contours, provided it can generate vector-based drawings and files.
Any suitable 2D or 3D CAD software can be used for technical drawings and dimensionally accurate geometries.
CAM software for calculating and creating cutting programs for the CUT5000S.
The CUT4000S and CUT5000S are CNC multi-wire cutting machines for the economical processing of EPS and XPS, but they differ significantly in their machine concept.
The CUT4000S is the more flexible solution for different cutting tasks. The CUT5000S, by contrast, is specifically designed for vertical multi-wire cutting, high quantities and industrial series production.
Experience the CUT5000S Series during a personal demonstration at our factory in Ilmenau and see vertical multi-wire cutting in a real production environment.
We can test your contours, materials or typical production tasks together and determine which machine configuration is best suited to your requirements.
