When it comes to its versatility, the CUT 3000S CNC is literally revolutionary. And we really mean that in every sense of the word: the Styrofoam cutting machine moves independently in each of its four cutting axes. The system can also be expanded by an optional rotational table, which will add a fifth horizontal turning axis (lathe). And whilst the EPS block turns its "pirouettes" on top of the rotary table, the machine creates such marvelous things as convoluted columns, statues and even busts. The automatic wire tensioner also manages extremely complicated interlaced cuts inside the entire work space.

Good news! The 3000 series combines both trades in just one unit: a lot of power and a lot of possibilities. After all, if there is ample room to play, even the simpler things are done much easier. The concept behind the CUT 3000S is based on the idea to be able to process 100% of all possible projects in the Styrofoam and Styrodur processing industry with just one machine. One of the key elements of this idea is the table with a fully adjustable width.
Fully extended, the largest CNC hot wire cutting machine in this series, the CUT 3550S, will take a floor space of six by six meters (which is equivalent to 19.6 by 19.6 feet / 118 square feet). In that setting, the maximum usable cutting wire length is 5,100 mm.

For example was the concept of this machine designed to cut with one cutting wire. However, for 2D cuts with multiple wires - in fact, with up to 20 wires! - we proudly present our mammoth series CUT 4000S. This particular machine was developed with this particular trade in mind. It's worth taking a look.
The CUT 3000S has two cutting wire options that it can run with. The machine can either be equipped with a two-sided spring loaded cutting wire that is connected via eyelets, which enables monolithic cutGOOD TO KNOW How does monolithic cutting work? Hot wire cutting machines generate logos and letters by tracing their inner and outer contours with a tensioned wire. But how does the cutting wire take out the core of a hollow profile, like for example the letter O? For this, the wire would have to drive through the letter. However, this would mean an unsightly extra cut and it would damage the letter O. Obviously, this could be glued back together or somehow get covered up, but this also demands additional time. Nevertheless, a lot of Styrofoam cutting machines still work this way exclusively. Our selection of CUT machines, however, master the monolithic cutting unit-side and per software. Requirements: The spring-mounted wire must be easily removed and re-engaged. This way you will just drill a hole right through the letter O. Here, you will pass the wire through and hook it back into the machine. The rest is then controlled automatically via our Software multiCUT mono: You can remove the inner circle without entry and exit “wounds” to the actual letter. The result will be a perfectly smooth letter O. ">s of 2D and 3D objects, or it can operate with an automatic cutting wire tensioner. These options are easily exchanged within just a few minutes. With the wire tensioner combination, extremely interlaced 4-axes cuts are possible across the entire work space.

The extremely sturdy, welded and painted machine table is also easily accessible, when large Styrofoam blocks are being processed. Loading and unloading is easy with a forklift or with a trolley.
The machine base of the CUT 3000S CNC series is also mobile. PC, monitor, keyboard and mouse are all located in one conveniently rollable console. This means that you have the freedom to decide where to position the control unit.
The fully automated wire tensioner of the 3000 series works without any springs. It will guarantee clean and accurate cuts across the entire work space with four independent axes. The system works independent from the software.

When cutting with long cutting wires, the automated wire tensioner will ensure clean and accurate cuts. Even, when the wire length changes during cutting, the automatic wire tensioner will react immediately and keep the cutting wire taut. This is particularly important during the processing of truncated cones or conical columns. The unit consists of a sensor, a motor and the electronic control. When the machine is cutting, this device will continuously measure the wire length and as soon as this changes, the electronic unit will regulate the wire tension, whereby the motor will either roll the wire up or wind it down. The fully automated wire tensioner works independently from the Styrofoam cutting machine and its software.
The optional rotation table, constructed in extremely heavy duty industrial quality, will supplement the existing cutting axes of the hot wire cutting machine by one more computer controlled vertical turning axis (lathe). With this extension you will be able to cut symmetrical objects such as vases and balustrades, as well as asymmetrical objects like hemispheres.
With a set of profile cutting wires - otherwise also known as "shapeable wire" - even the most complicated silhouettes will come out perfectly in no time at all. The CNC machine will move the pre-shaped wire in all three axes (X, Y, Z). The result will look like it was done on a turning lathe.
To give the profile wire its shape you can either use a template that was previously cut from Styrodur (XPS) or you can "bend" the wire by hand around the desired model. If the measurements don't have to be exact, this can even be done without a template. Everything else will be taken over by the CUT 3000S.
Our tip: If you combine the shapeable profile cutting wire set with the computer controlled rotational table (please see above), you can very easily and quickly cut symmetrical 3D objects from Styrofoam such as column capitals, column bases, column heads etc.
This optional and sturdy extension will expand your CNC Styrofoam cutting machine by one additional horizontal turning axis. The computer controlled lathe will cut contorted columns and other rotational objects without any problems.
The CUT 3000S also comes with a special board and panel cutting feature, which enables you to cut smaller panel formats out of larger boards. The so-called trimming is part of this function within the software. So, you can easily cut two or more thinner panels out of one thicker board. Styrofoam blocks are also easily cut into the desired smaller formats. First these large squares are cut into smaller blocks, which are then subsequently cut into even smaller panels with the required sizes. And on top of that, our software will do all of that in nesting mode, which will save on overall material waste, as it literally "nests" the cuts into an optimized pattern
At any time, you can trim the 0.3 mm cutting wire of the CUT 3000S into the desired length, as we deliver this wire on a 50 meter spool. Any other types of maintenance are almost obsolete, due to the belt drive. However, we do recommend to clean the machine periodically and lightly grease it. Should you ever have to replace a part, the low cost modules are very easily exchangeable
The cutting wire of the CUT 3000S will always have the correct temperature to cut Styrofoam or Styrodur cleanly and accurately. The brains behind this is a small computer that controls the power supply with its microprocessor, in particular when the wire length during interlaced cutting changes. It will also detect fluctuations in the power supply and regulate these accordingly. This way, the CUT 3000S will produce perfect cuts with cutting wires that go through the material like a hot knife through butter.
The CAM software will enable you to create programs for rotational cutting, lathe cutting, the shaping of profile wires (profiler), multi-profile and multiple wire cuts. multiCUT is a cloud based software and runs independent of the operation system on every Windows or Mac computer. Every update and the continuously growing data catalogues will be immediately available to you. You can use the web-based program via any modern browser like Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome. Your DWG, DXF, PLT and STL files will also easily and quickly be imported into our StyroCAM software, which will calculate your cutting data within mere seconds.
Whilst developing any of our machines, the very easy use of our programs has always been our main focus. One of the benefits is for example the split processing, whereby the work preparation can be done on a separate computer, whilst the machine finishes the previous work load. The next project can then be uploaded via our network or with a USB stick into the machine. Once the cutting data has been imported, the software of the CUT 3000S CNC will take over from there. It doesn't get much simpler than this.
