When processing large EPS, Neopor, XPS or EPP parts, bulky waste pieces and offcuts are often generated that cannot always be avoided or further optimized.
The SHD2000S was developed at the request of customers to reduce these waste pieces quickly and easily to manageable sizes.
Instead of cutting large offcuts with a chainsaw or using valuable production time on a CNC cutting machine, the waste pieces are simply placed into the recycling station from above.
By their own weight, they fall through two vertically separated levels of heated cutting wires and then directly into the collection bag mounted underneath.
Customer feedback from EPS processing
When processing EPS, Neopor, XPS, EPP and other thermally cuttable materials, large and bulky waste pieces are often generated depending on the cutting geometry and cannot always be fully avoided or further optimized.
The SHD2000S handles the reduction of these waste pieces as a separate process step. This means that a CNC cutting machine does not have to be used for simple waste reduction and the production machine remains available for value-adding cutting operations.
Thanks to its castors, the recycling station can be used flexibly exactly where the waste material is generated. The offcuts are placed into the machine from above and, by their own weight, pass through the two heated cutting wire levels.
The reduced material then falls directly into the collection bag mounted underneath the machine and can easily be reused, returned for recycling, fed into a compactor or disposed of.
Only a 220 V AC connection is required for operation.
The SHD2000S is a compact and mobile hot wire recycling station for reducing large waste pieces made from EPS, Neopor, XPS, EPP and other thermally cuttable materials.
Large waste pieces are simply placed into the machine from above. By their own weight, they pass through the cutting wire grid, are reduced to manageable sizes and then collected directly in the recycling bag underneath.
The cutting wire grid consists of two vertically separated levels. The wire spacing can be individually adjusted by the operator. This allows the size of the resulting pieces to be adapted to the intended reuse or subsequent recycling process.
No CNC programming or automatic material feed is required for operation. Thanks to the castors and the 220 V AC connection, the SHD2000S can be used flexibly wherever waste material is generated.
The SHD2000S is supplied as standard with a 10 × 10 cutting wire grid.
The cutting wires are arranged on two levels and reduce the waste material in two directions as it passes through.
The spacing between the individual cutting wires can be adjusted individually by the operator. This allows the size of the resulting pieces to be adapted to the intended reuse or subsequent recycling process.
Depending on the application, the SHD2000S can optionally be equipped with a higher number of cutting wires.
Depending on the application, cutting wires with a diameter of 0.4 or 0.5 mm can be used.
A holder for collection or recycling bags is located below the cutting wire grid.
After cutting, the reduced material falls directly into the fitted bag and can then be easily removed, transported or further processed.
Depending on the production process, the material can be reused directly, returned to an EPS manufacturer for recycling, fed into a compactor or disposed of.
The SHD2000S reduces large and bulky waste pieces to a manageable size.
How the material is subsequently used or processed depends on the individual production process.
Reduced waste pieces can be reused directly as packaging or filling material.
The reduced material can be collected and returned to the EPS manufacturer for recycling.
The smaller waste pieces can be fed more easily into a downstream compactor for densification.
For disposal, the reduced material can be collected and transported efficiently in collection or recycling bags.
