Automated cut-to-length production of roller shutter boxes
The PA Series is not a conventional cut-to-length machine, but your automation solution for cutting roller shutter box profiles to length.
It is designed for manufacturers who want to process complete production orders with many different finished lengths largely automatically.
The operator places several roller shutter box profiles on the machine, enters the required finished lengths and starts the order. During production, the operator loads new profiles, removes the finished sections and labels them. The machine automatically handles the rest of the production process.
Whether an order consists of 3 or 50 length positions makes no difference. If one profile is not long enough for the next finished length, the machine automatically continues the finished part on the next profile. With profilCUT Pro customer-specific joining cuts can additionally be performed automatically at the transition.

Commercial Production
The PA Series is designed for the series production of roller shutter box profiles and can automatically and reproducibly process production orders with many different length positions.
While the machine continues working, finished sections can be removed and labelled and new profiles can be loaded. This keeps operator involvement low and production running continuously.
The PA Series is therefore suitable for all manufacturers of roller shutter box profiles who want to produce high volumes with low staffing requirements.

The Software Makes the Difference
The PA Series is a deliberately simple 2-axis CNC hot-wire cutting machine. Its real strength lies in the specially developed software.
It directly maps the production process of roller shutter box manufacturers and automates tasks that still have to be planned, calculated and carried out manually in conventional saw-based production.
Two software levels are available for this purpose: the permanently included profilCUT and the enhanced profilCUT Pro for more complex production workflows.
This allows the machine to be matched precisely to the respective production process without making the mechanics unnecessarily complex.
profilCUT - Software for automated production orders
profilCUT
profilCUT is included as standard with the PA Series and enables automatic cutting to specified finished lengths.
Up to 20 profile lengths are entered manually by the operator and then processed automatically in the specified sequence.
If one profile is not long enough for the next finished length, the machine automatically continues the finished part on the next profile. profilCUT uses straight cut-to-length cuts for this process.
This allows complete production orders with different length positions to be processed automatically and reproducibly.
profilCUT Pro
For applications that also require customer-specific joining cuts, the PA Series can be expanded at any time with profilCUT Pro.
While profilCUT uses straight cut-to-length cuts at the transition between two profiles, profilCUT Pro can automatically perform the customer-defined tongue or groove cut.
The connection geometry is individually adapted to the respective roller shutter box profile. If a finished part is split across two profiles, the machine automatically produces the matching joining cuts.
This allows the individual profile sections to be joined more easily and quickly.
Complete production orders can also be imported via CSV. On request, profilCUT Pro can be custom-integrated with existing production planning and control (PPC) systems.
profilCUT or Pro?
Both software versions enable automated cut-to-length production. profilCUT Pro adds additional functions for automated series production.
PA Series - Features
The roller shutter box profiles are placed on the machine table and remain stationary throughout the entire machining process. The cutting wire automatically moves to the respective cutting positions and thermally cuts the profile to the specified length.
Unlike conventional cut-to-length solutions, where the profile must be advanced and repositioned for each cut, the roller shutter box profile remains stationary on the machine table with the PA Series. The cutting wire moves to the individual cutting positions. This avoids additional positioning deviations caused by moving the profile and enables very precise and reproducible cut-to-length production.
The cutting wire is automatically switched on and off by the machine control and is heated only during the actual cutting process.
With a positioning speed of approx. 6–8 m/min the cutting wire moves quickly between the individual cutting positions. In addition to straight cut-to-length cuts, the machine can also cut freely programmable 2D contours.
Multiple Stock Profiles and Offcuts
Depending on the machine length, 2 or 3 roller shutter box profiles can be loaded and processed simultaneously. The positions on the machine table are freely configurable, and up to 3 different standard lengths can be stored for each position.
Existing offcuts can also be reused directly. The machine automatically takes their length into account and then continues the order with the stored standard profiles.
The remaining length at which the machine switches to the next profile can be individually adapted to the production process.
Customer-Specific Joining Cuts
If the remaining length of a stock profile is not sufficient for the required finished part, the part is continued on the next stock profile.
At the transition between the two stock profiles, the machine automatically performs the customer-defined joining cut. The connection geometry can be individually adapted to the respective roller shutter box system and created by the customer.
Typical versions include, for example, tongue-and-groove connections or other positive-fit contours.
This allows existing material lengths to be combined flexibly and offcuts to be used efficiently.
Fast Positioning
The cutting wire moves at a positioning speed of approx. 6–8 m/min from one cutting position to the next, significantly reducing non-cutting time within a production order.
The actual cutting speed is approx. 350–750 mm/min, depending on the material, density and required cut quality.
4 or 6 Metres of Travel
The PA Series is available as standard with 4 or 6 metres of travel.
Different travel lengths can be custom-built to customer requirements.
Technical Data
Scope of Delivery
The PA Series is assembled, adjusted and fully function-tested at our factory. For transport, the machine is delivered in transport-optimised assemblies.
The scope of delivery includes the CNC machine, machine control, power supply for the cutting wire, machine software and profilCUT. A Windows PC and an operator console can be offered to match the machine. profilCUT Pro is available as an optional enhanced software solution.
