FW1000H series
CNC Fastwire machine for cutting boards and small blocks.
Compactly built, fully production-ready – precise and repeatable in daily manufacturing.
With the FW1000H, you produce profiles, insulation parts and cut parts yourself in your own production — fast, repeatable and flexible, from a single piece to series production. Instead of buying in or outsourcing, you decide on the material, contour and delivery date yourself.
The FW1000H series is a CNC Fastwire machine for cutting boards and small material blocks made of stone wool, EPP, XPS as well as open- and closed-cell foams.
It is suitable for 2D contours, profiles and technical cut parts as well as for boards in the desired thickness.
Fastwire machines work abrasively: a rough, fast-circulating endless wire saws mechanically through the material and reaches a circulating speed of nearly 300 km/h.
For cutting from standard blocks, we recommend our FW4000H series .
Don't be misled by its size: even though the FW1000H is more compact in design, it is a fully-fledged production machine for processing board material, designed for continuous use in ongoing production – for single cut parts as well as for the series production of recurring components.
Custom insulation profiles, packaging inserts, cushioning parts, fire protection strips and other cut parts can be produced directly from existing board material to customer order – with different dimensions and contours, flexibly prepared. Several individual orders can be combined if needed and produced together to use the material more efficiently and reduce waste.
Recurring components can be produced again at any time using saved cutting programs, as consistent cut parts in series. This means regularly needed products can be pre-produced and put into stock – common contours and standard dimensions are available more quickly for new orders.
Contour-cut insulation profiles made of non-crosslinked PE foam for window and connection areas.
Custom packaging parts and protective elements made of EPP to component or product contour.
The FW1000H processes a variety of foam and insulation boards. Typical materials are PE, EPE, PP, EPP, PU, PUR, PIR, XPS as well as stone wool.
Most of these materials are supplied as standard board stock. Typical formats are 1,250 × 600 mm or longer with the same width. These boards can be processed on every machine in the FW1000H series.
In addition, small material blocks up to 650 mm height can be processed on the FW1000H.
These can be used, for example, to produce insulation shells, cushioning parts or boards in individual thicknesses. For large production blocks, the FW4000H series is intended.
The FW1000H series can process boards lying flat or standing upright. Which working method is used depends on the component, board thickness and quantity.
The board is placed flat on the machine table, aligned and then cut with CNC precision. This produces profiles, insulation parts, packaging parts or other individual 2D cut parts; thick boards up to 650 mm height can also be processed, which in practice corresponds to small material blocks.
Heavy boards stay securely on the table due to their own weight and do not need to be additionally fixed. Light boards, on the other hand, can be shifted by the cutting wire; depending on the material, various fixing options are available for this.
For boards that are difficult to fix or for series production, the FW1000H can additionally be equipped with a vacuum table.
Boards are positioned vertically on the machine table and securely fixed with the board holder. This makes it possible to cut the same contour from several standing boards in a single operation; how many can be processed simultaneously depends on the board thickness and the selected working width (1,250, 2,000 or 2,500 mm).
This working method is particularly suitable for series production of identical components, for example packaging inserts, insulation profiles, fire protection strips or technical cut parts.
The most important difference between FW1112H, FW1120H and FW1130H is the length of the machine table – standard boards measuring 1,250 × 600 mm can be processed on all machines in the FW1000H series. The standard working width is 1,250 mm, with 2,000 mm or 2,500 mm available as options.
The working width should always be chosen as small as possible: as the working width and thus the wire length increase, cutting quality and possible cutting speed decrease – a large working area that is only rarely needed unnecessarily limits the machine in daily use.

The actual cutting speed depends on the material and material density. Contour and material thickness also influence the processing time.
For stone wool, typical cutting speeds are around 1.0–1.5 m/min.
PIR, PU and PUR are cut at around 1.0–2.0 m/min, depending on material density and material structure.
For EPP, PE, XPS and other foams, the usable cutting speed also depends on the material type, density and desired cutting result.
For precise values, we are happy to carry out test cuts with your material in our sample production.
The FW1000H works with a fast-circulating, wound cutting wire that cuts the material mechanically and not with heat. It consists of several cores around which a further wire is wound – this winding performs the actual sawing process and is designed differently depending on the material, so that the cutting wire is selected to suit the material.
The typical wire diameter is 1.3 – 1.6 mm; wire type, wire speed and feed rate are matched to the respective material. The cutting wire is a consumable; the actual service life depends on the material, wire type and application.
Operation of the FW1000H is deliberately kept simple. The operator loads the prepared cutting file, positions the material and starts the cut. The machine then handles the rest of the cutting process automatically.
Many of our customers quickly become independent with the help of our instructions for the individual applications, or make use of an application training session with one of our application technicians – at our premises or at your site.
A CNC machine is only as good as its software – it is decisive for how easily and quickly you can work with the machine. When choosing a CNC cutting machine, the focus should therefore be not only on the machine itself but especially on the software.
Ultimately, the machine does nothing other than carry out the software's commands; what matters is how easily and quickly these commands can be created and transferred to the machine. Complicated software lengthens job preparation for every order and adds up to considerable costs over months and years – good software simplifies job preparation and thus saves time and money.
A CAM software translates a CAD drawing (DXF or DWG) into a machine program that is loaded and cut on the machine.
With us, CAD, CAM and machine software are separate – you can use any suitable CAM software. Our own cloud-based styroCAM Fastwire is included in the first year.
For simple cuts – rectangular contours, cut-outs or miter cuts – a plugin is available directly on the machine, entirely without CAD or CAM.
The operator enters dimensions and travel movements directly; the machine travels the path and then stops automatically.
In a service case, you receive support directly from cnc-multitool. Many faults and questions can first be analyzed together by phone, email or remote support and often solved directly.
The FW1000H is designed so that important components are easily accessible and can be replaced quickly if necessary – many tasks can also be carried out by your own staff after consulting our service team. The compact 2-axis control is designed as a replaceable 19-inch unit, and remote support for the control PC can be provided via the LAN connection if required.
If an on-site repair is necessary, a service technician carries out the required work at the customer's premises. The goal is always to keep downtime as short as possible and get the machine back into production quickly.
The design of the FW1000H series is geared toward reliable operation in daily production. This includes a sturdy steel construction, a powerful wire drive and operating and safety systems tailored to everyday production.
The machine frame and work table are made of welded and painted steel profiles. The sturdy construction forms the basis for smooth machine running and repeatable cutting results.
The open machine table is easily accessible and allows the board material to be placed, aligned and removed easily.
The circulating cutting wire is driven by a powerful 4 kW three-phase motor. This makes it possible to cut even firm and high-density foam and insulation materials without the wire losing speed under load.
The wire speed is controlled directly via the machine software and adapted to the respective material.
The cutting wire is pneumatically tensioned during operation. The constant tension prevents sagging and vibration – a prerequisite for clean, smooth cut surfaces without grooves.
If the wire is damaged or an unforeseen event occurs in the wire run, the machine stops automatically. After a check or wire change, the program is continued at the stopping point.
Abrasive cutting produces dust depending on the material, which must be extracted. For this, the cutting arms are enclosed and prepared with two 100 mm extraction connections.
A dust extraction system offered by us or a suitable external extraction system can be used.
Together with the machine software and control, the computer system forms the operating environment of the FW1000H. It is delivered ready for operation with a current Windows Pro license – computer, interfaces and software are matched to one another.
All computer systems from cnc-multitool have a second SSD as a backup drive.
The operating console is located directly on the FW1000H. Computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse and the operating elements are arranged at a fixed workstation.
This gives the operator the machine, software and production documents right where they are needed – and the cutting process is controlled from the workstation at the machine.

The FW1000H series is delivered as a complete production solution. The machine, control and basic software are already included.
Fastwire cutting produces saw dust depending on the material and cutting wire. A suitable dust extraction system is therefore required for production operation.
The extraction system can be obtained from us to match the machine or provided by the customer.
An appropriately integrated extraction system can be switched on and off via the machine software.
A suitable safety device is required for machine operation.
Depending on the installation and production environment, this can consist of a safety fence and safety light barriers.
The safety equipment can be ordered from us or implemented by the customer in accordance with the applicable safety regulations.
For light boards or boards that are difficult to fix, the FW1000H series can be equipped with a vacuum table.
The material is held securely on the machine table during the cutting process. With suitable materials, this means additional mechanical fastening can be dispensed with.
Especially for series production and frequent material changes, the vacuum table makes setting up the machine easier.
For processing boards positioned upright, the FW1000H series can be equipped with a board holder.
The holding device securely fixes the board material in a vertical position.
This allows several boards to be positioned next to one another and cut in a single operation when they have the same contour.
For material that cannot be securely fixed either by its own weight or via the vacuum table, the FW1000H series can be equipped with a material hold-down.
Two rollers press the material onto the machine table during the cutting process and hold it securely in position.
This allows even light boards or boards that are difficult to fix to be processed reliably.
Two options are available for commissioning the FW1000H series.
On request, our technicians handle installation and commissioning directly at the customer's site. The machine is set up, connected, tested and handed over ready for operation.
Alternatively, the FW1000H series can also be commissioned by yourself. For this we provide corresponding documentation and videos and additionally support you via remote service if needed.
In addition, software and application training can be booked at cnc-multitool, at the customer's site or online via TeamViewer.
