THE RIGHT MACHINE FOR YOUR PRODUCTION

Contour cutting for different materials and production tasks

Our CNC Fastwire cutting machines cut sheets, blocks, contours and profiles from insulation materials and foams. In Fastwire cutting a fast-moving abrasive cutting wire separates the material mechanically, without applying heat.

All four series use this cutting process. These machines are also known as abrasive-wire cutting machines, CNC wire saws or Fastwire contour cutting machines . The key selection criterion is whether you need to process individual sheets, blocks, complete pallets of sheets or roofing components .

The FW1000H series is designed for individual sheets and smaller components; the FW4000H series for sheets and blocks where ceiling height is limited; the FW5000H series for high-volume production and cutting entire pallets of stacked sheets without handling each sheet individually; and the FW5000HR series specifically for in-house production of tapered roof insulation and roofing components.

Typical materials include stone wool, PU, PUR, PIR, PE, EPE, PP and other technical foams. Depending on the application, EPS, XPS and EPP can also be cut abrasively. For EPS, however, hot-wire cutting is generally the more common method. We offer a suitable wrapped cutting wire for each material.

MACHINE SELECTION

Four machine concepts at a glance

Choose your series based on the form of your material and what you want to produce.

FW1000H series – for individual sheets and smaller components

The FW1000H series is the compact solution for individual sheets and smaller components. It cuts profiles, insulation components, protective packaging and free-form 2D contours.

If you mainly process individual sheets and smaller components, the FW1000H series is the right choice.

FW4000H series – for sheets and blocks with limited ceiling height

The FW4000H series processes sheets and blocks where ceiling height is limited. Its low-profile design is particularly useful when vertical space is restricted.

It is a versatile choice for different sizes, contours and materials when your production involves both sheets and blocks.

FW5000H series – for high volumes and industrial production

The FW5000H series is designed for high volumes and complete pallets of stacked sheets . Entire pallets of stacked sheets can be cut without unloading and repositioning each sheet for every cut.

This enables efficient, repeatable contour cutting in stacks of sheets. The FW5000H is designed for industrial series production.

FW5000HR series – for tapered insulation and roofing components

With the FW5000HR series you can bring tapered roof insulation and roofing component production in-house – using stone wool, PIR, PU and PUR, from sheets or material blocks.

Produce tapered boards, valley and hip boards, insulation wedges and the individual elements that make up roof crickets. Sheet processing with a conveyor and CNC-controlled block cutting are both available.

What are CNC contour cutting machines used for?

Wherever insulation materials and foams need to be processed into sheets, contours, profiles or roofing components – from insulation cutting and contour or profile cutting to tapered roof insulation and packaging. Choose the application that best matches your production.

Typical tasks include cutting stone wool, cutting insulation materials or cutting rigid PU, PUR and PIR foam – which is why the machines are also searched for as wire saws for insulation materials and foams .

Frequently asked questions

The key questions about choosing the right CNC contour cutting machine.

Show questions

What are the differences between the four CNC cutting machine series?

Mainly how your material is supplied and what you produce: individual sheets (FW1000H), sheets and blocks with limited ceiling height (FW4000H), high volumes and complete pallets of sheets (FW5000H) or tapered roof insulation and roofing components (FW5000HR).

What materials can these machines cut?

Stone wool, PU, PUR, PIR, PE, EPE, PP and other technical foams; EPS, XPS and EPP depending on the application, with hot-wire usually preferred for EPS.

When is the FW1000H series the right choice?

When you mainly process individual sheets and smaller components.

When does the FW4000H series make sense?

When you process sheets and blocks flexibly and ceiling height is limited.

When do I need the FW5000H series?

For high volumes and complete pallets of sheets without handling each one individually.

When is the FW5000HR series the right choice?

When you want to produce tapered roof insulation and roofing components in-house.

What is the difference between Fastwire and hot-wire cutting?

Fastwire cuts abrasively without heat, while hot-wire melts through thermally – hot-wire is usually preferred for EPS.

Band saw or CNC contour cutting machine?

For purely straight sheets a band saw can be faster; for contours and profiles the moving cutting wire is more flexible.
