W2 Series
CNC router with oscillating knife.
Fully equipped CNC router in a range of working sizes – for anyone who does not yet know what they will need to manufacture tomorrow.
In your workshop or business, you work with different components and materials. Wood today, plastic or aluminium tomorrow. Sometimes simple contours and holes, sometimes pockets and grooves – or even 3D shapes.
The AC Series is a robust, fully equipped 3-axis CNC gantry router. All essential machine components are already included.
This gives you the flexibility to take on changing machining tasks without having to configure the machine from a range of equipment packages first.
You simply choose the right machine size. Three standard sizes are available; other dimensions can be supplied on request.
As a complete-system supplier, we also provide the right milling cutters and tools for your applications. That means you can source the machine and its tools from one supplier.
With the AC Series, you can manufacture a wide variety of parts – from signs and furniture components to technical parts, three-dimensional models and moulds.
Mill letters, logos, signs, displays and presentation elements from plastic, acrylic, Dibond or wood. Contours, cut-outs and engravings are produced under CNC control in a single machining operation.
Manufacture furniture parts, interior fittings, panelling, partitions and custom interior components from solid wood and wood-based panels. Pockets, grooves, holes and outer contours are machined precisely.
Manufacture housing components, front panels, technical parts, fixtures and shaped components from engineering plastics and aluminium. Contours, pockets and holes are machined in a single setup.
Mill 3D shapes, master patterns, models, pipe insulation sections and three-dimensional components from foam, wood and composites. 3D machining produces freeform surfaces and three-dimensional geometries.
The AC Series is a fully capable CNC router that processes a wide range of materials – from wood and wood-based panels to plastic sheets, composites, aluminium and rigid or flexible foams.
Steel and stainless steel are not machined on the AC Series.
The AC Series machines solid wood, MDF, HDF, multiplex plywood, plywood and film-faced plywood.
Typical products include furniture parts, interior fittings, panelling, partitions and customised interior components.
Engineering plastics include PE, PP, POM, polyamide (PA), polycarbonate (PC), PVC and acrylic (Plexiglas).
Typical products include housing parts, front panels, signs, displays, guide strips, workpiece holders and technical components.
Materials include Dibond (aluminium composite panels), GRP panels, sandwich panels and honeycomb composite panels.
Typical products include signs, façade and cladding panels, vehicle and caravan panels, and lightweight structural components.
The AC Series machines aluminium in light-duty cutting applications, such as sheets, profiles and blanks.
Typical products include front panels, support plates, fixtures and technical parts. Steel and stainless steel are not machined.
The AC Series machines a variety of rigid and flexible foams, including EPS, XPS, EPP, PE foam, XPE, PU foam and EVA.
Typical products include models, 3D shapes, packaging inserts, workpiece supports, insulation components and moulded parts.
With the AC Series, you can produce both conventional 2.5D milled parts and three-dimensional shapes and freeform surfaces.
The working height is 200 mm, with a 400 mm Z-axis travel. This allows tools up to 200 mm long to be raised fully clear of the material even at the maximum working height.
In 2.5D machining, the X and Y axes machine at defined Z levels. The Z axis sets the machining depth but is not interpolated simultaneously with X and Y to produce spatial freeform toolpaths.
This allows pockets, grooves, drilled holes, engravings and outer contours to be machined. Typical applications are panels, signs and flat components.
Different cutters, diameters and cutting geometries are selected depending on the material and task.
During 3D machining, the X, Y and Z axes can move simultaneously, making it possible to machine freeform surfaces, spatial contours and three-dimensional shapes.
Examples include master patterns, models, 3D components and pipe insulation sections.
3D machining requires suitable 3D CAM software to calculate toolpaths for the three-dimensional geometry.
To achieve precise machining, the workpiece must be held securely on the machine table. The AC Series therefore includes a vacuum table with individually switchable vacuum zones as well as T-slots for mechanical clamping.
Workpieces suitable for vacuum holding are placed directly on the machine table and held in place using the individually switchable vacuum zones.
Only the table zones beneath the panel are activated. Unused areas are covered to minimise air leakage and maintain a strong holding force beneath the workpiece.
The vacuum pump is included with the machine.
If a workpiece cannot be held securely by vacuum, you can clamp it mechanically using the T-slots in the machine table.
Mechanical clamping can be used on its own or together with vacuum clamping. Lightweight or highly porous materials can be clamped or secured with double-sided adhesive tape.
The right AC Series model depends mainly on the size of your workpieces. All three standard models have the same technical equipment and differ only in their working length.
The standard working width is 1,250 mm. Other sizes are possible, both in working length and in working width.
The AC Series offers substantial speed reserves for different milling tasks.
The AC Series is designed for traverse speeds of up to 40 m/min. For normal operation, the speed has deliberately been limited to 20 m/min. Operators can remove this limit themselves if required.
The actual milling feed rate depends on the material, cutter and depth of cut.
This gives the AC Series ample speed reserves, even for demanding users and machining tasks.
The AC Series is particularly easy to operate. Load the machine program, clamp the workpiece and start machining – the machine handles the programmed machining sequence automatically.
The operator loads the prepared program onto the control PC, clamps the workpiece and starts machining. The AC Series then carries out all programmed movements automatically and repeatably.
If several cutters are required, the automatic tool changer handles the changes. Jobs using different tools can therefore run without manual tool changes.
On the AC Series, CAD, CAM and machine-control software are separate. You can continue using your existing suitable CAD and CAM software.
CAD software is used to create drawings or 3D models. CAM software calculates the toolpaths and generates the machine program. This program is then loaded into the machine control and executed.
The CAM software must be able to output a program compatible with the machine control.

The AC Series is built as a robust 3-axis CNC gantry router. Its welded steel frame, servo drives and precision guide systems provide reliable, repeatable machining.
The AC Series machine table is made from welded steel sections, which are heat-treated after welding to relieve internal stresses.
The mounting surfaces for the guides and gantry are then precision-milled. This creates a rigid, torsion-resistant base for the entire machine – not an aluminium construction.
The AC Series has a vacuum table with individually switchable vacuum zones, allowing the holding area to be matched to different workpiece sizes.
After assembly, each AC Series machine mills its own vacuum table. This ensures the table surface is precisely level relative to the milling spindle.
A vacuum pump is included. Workpieces can also be clamped mechanically using the T-slots.
Each CNC axis is driven by a 750 W servo motor. These drives allow fast traverses and precise axis positioning.
Position and movement are continuously controlled by the servo system. This enables both very small, precise positioning movements and fast, repeatable traverses.
The axes run on high-quality linear guides, mounted on precision-machined surfaces of the steel frame.
This allows the gantry and milling unit to travel accurately and repeatably across the entire working area, without play.
The X and Y axes use helical rack-and-pinion drives – suited to the long travel distances, high speeds and precise positioning of the AC Series.
The Z axis uses a ball screw for precise, low-backlash vertical positioning of the milling spindle.
Together with the servo drives, these systems provide precise, repeatable motion on all three axes.
The AC Series control cabinet houses the machine control, servo controllers and electrical components in one central location.
The machine computer runs the machine software. It processes the loaded machine program and sends commands to the machine control.
The machine control operates the axes, milling spindle, tool changer and other machine functions.
The AC Series features an air-cooled 9 kW milling spindle with a maximum speed of 24,000 rpm.
Tools are held in ISO30 holders with ER32 collets, accommodating cutter shanks up to 20 mm in diameter.
The spindle speed is continuously adjustable and can be set to suit the material being machined.
The spindle has pneumatic tool clamping for the automatic tool changer.
The AC Series features an automatic tool changer with six tool positions. The required cutters are changed automatically, without operator intervention.
This means jobs requiring different tools can be completed automatically.
Before starting a job, you load the magazine and use the tool length sensor to measure the cutters automatically.
Each cutter's measured length is stored in the tool database.
The measured tools remain available for the current job and future jobs. Remeasuring is only necessary when a tool is changed or reinstalled.
The AC Series monitors the compressed-air supply using a pressure sensor. If the air pressure drops below the required level, the machine control detects it.
If the pressure drops too far, the machine enters an emergency-stop state to prevent pneumatic functions and tool changes from operating with insufficient pressure.
The AC Series is equipped with automatic central lubrication. The relevant lubrication points are supplied with lubricant automatically.
You can set the lubrication intervals individually; the lubrication controller stores them permanently.
This greatly reduces routine manual lubrication while ensuring that guides and drive components are lubricated during operation.
The AC Series is supplied as a CNC gantry router prepared for commissioning. The machine, control system and essential machine equipment are already included.
The machine is already fully equipped. Additional machine options include a dust-extraction system and a safety fence. Cutters and toolholders are selected for your application; the information below also describes available safety and operating solutions.
A cyclone extraction system with fine-particle filter is available for the AC Series.
Coarse chips are collected in a metal container via the cyclone, while fine particles are removed by the fine-particle filter. The extraction system can be switched on and off through the machine software.
A safety fence with an interlocked access door can be used to secure the AC Series.
It prevents direct access to protected areas and is integrated into the control system.
Where access remains open, a safety light curtain can protect the working area.
If the light field is interrupted during operation, the safety control responds and stops the machine.
The right cutters depend on the material, contour and depth of cut.
Different cutter diameters, lengths and cutting geometries are used depending on the application. The tooling can be selected specifically for your workpieces and materials.
Additional ISO30 toolholders with ER32 collet chucks are available in different lengths for the milling spindle.
Additional toolholders can be fitted with cutters, measured and entered in the machine software's tool database, keeping prepared tools ready for use.
The wireless handwheel is an electronic handheld control that lets you operate the machine directly beside the workpiece, away from the control PC.
Use it to jog the axes manually, set the workpiece zero point and perform referencing. The wireless connection gives you freedom to move around the machine without a cable.
You can normally commission the AC Series yourself – and our technicians can assist on site if requested.
