Bringing blocks and sheets to length quickly
Before blocks and sheets are processed further, they usually first have to be brought to the right length. That is exactly what the GT1300S is made for – for fast, repeatable cutting to length of EPS and Neopor blocks as well as EPS, Neopor and XPS sheets.
The hot wire separates the material cleanly and without sawdust. This gives you dimensionally accurate cuts – fast, repeatable and ready for the next production step.
Whether as an upstream station directly in the block store or standalone for pure material preparation: the GT1300S reliably brings your material to size.
Why a separate cut-to-length station?
You can of course also cut a foam block to length on your CNC hot wire cutting machine – but that ties up an expensive machine with a simple task, which is then unavailable for actual production.
With the GT1300S you cut the block to size right in the store. This lets preparation and production run in parallel, the CNC cutting machine stays free – saving time and reducing production costs.
How does the GT1300S work?
The GT1300S cuts blocks with a vertically guided cutting wire in an up-and-down movement. The cut is triggered at the push of a button.
The cutting wire cuts in both directions: when the wire is at the bottom, the machine cuts upwards; when it is at the top, downwards. So one cut follows the next without idle travel.
Wire temperature and cutting speed are adjustable at any time and are matched to the respective material. Typical cutting speeds are approx. 450–600 mm/min for EPS and Neopor and approx. 300–400 mm/min for XPS.
The desired length is set via the manual length stop; optionally, the CNC positioning system multiSTOP takes over automatic positioning.
No computer is required for the standard version – operation is easy even without CNC experience.
Which cutting wire is used?
The GT1300S works with a single, vertically guided cutting wire: our TiTA64 (0.35 mm), developed specifically for hot wire cutting and staying heat-resistant and dimensionally stable even in continuous operation.
Wire tensioning is mechanical, via springs that compensate for the change in length during heating and keep the wire taut.
Cutting wire and springs are wear parts and can be reordered directly from cnc-multitool when needed.
What happens in a service case?
The GT1300S has a clear technical design. Questions about operation, setup or troubleshooting can be clarified directly with our technical support.
Important components are easily accessible and, after consultation, can also be replaced by your own technical staff.
Typical wear and spare parts such as cutting wire and springs can be obtained directly from cnc-multitool and easily replaced when needed.

Options and Accessories
The GT1300S can be extended with additional components for different production workflows.
CNC length positioning system multiSTOP
For frequently changing cut lengths, the GT1300S can be equipped with the optional multiSTOP.
The system automates the positioning of the length stop and reduces the risk of operating errors with changing lengths.
Additional roller conveyors
For processing longer blocks, the standard roller conveyors can be extended with additional roller conveyor elements.
Optionally, the cut-to-length machine can also be equipped with a driven roller conveyor. This makes it easier to move large or heavy blocks to the cutting unit.
Cutting wire and springs
Cutting wire and tension springs are wear parts and can be changed quickly and without tools when needed.
In normal operation the wire lasts a long time.
Replacement wire and matching tension springs are available directly from cnc-multitool.
Installation and Commissioning
Easy to set up yourself
The GT1300S is prepared for easy self-assembly. No special technical knowledge is required for setup.
On site, essentially the roller conveyors are mounted and aligned, the length stop is set up and the machine is connected electrically.
Wire temperature and cutting speed are then set and a first test cut is carried out. We are happy to help by phone or e-mail if you have any questions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I also cut contours or shaped parts with the GT1300S?
No. The GT1300S is a pure cut-to-length machine for straight separating cuts. Contours, profiles or shaped parts are produced with our CNC hot wire cutting machines.
Can materials other than EPS, Neopor and XPS be cut?
The GT1300S is designed for thermally cuttable foams such as EPS, Neopor and XPS. Mineral or stone wool, PU, PUR or PIR cannot be cut with a hot wire; our CNC cold wire or Fastwire machines are intended for these.
How clean is the cut?
The vertically guided, heated cutting wire separates the material without mechanical pressure. This produces a straight, even cut and – unlike sawing – no sawdust.
How often does the cutting wire need to be replaced?
That depends on material, usage and the set wire temperature. The cutting wire is replaced when the cut quality declines, the wire is visibly aged or can no longer be tensioned reliably.
Can I replace the cutting wire myself?
Yes. The cutting wire can be replaced by the operator and then reset via the mechanical wire tensioning.
Does the GT1300S require regular maintenance?
The GT1300S has a low-maintenance design. Particularly the cutting wire, wire tensioning, roller conveyors and the freely moving machine components should be checked regularly.
