FW4000H series
CNC Fastwire machine for cutting blocks and boards – even in low halls.
Compact design, fully production-ready – precise and repeatable for everyday manufacturing.
With the FW1000H, you produce profiles, insulation parts and contour-cut parts in your own production – quickly, repeatably and flexibly, from one-off parts to series production. Instead of purchasing finished parts or outsourcing production, you control the material, contour and delivery schedule yourself.
The FW1000H Series is a CNC Fastwire contour cutting machine with a continuously running cutting wire for cutting boards and small material blocks made of stone wool, EPP, XPS and open- and closed-cell foams.
It is suitable for 2D contours, profiles and technical cut parts as well as boards cut to the required thickness.
The FW1000H cuts abrasively: a rough, fast-running endless wire mechanically saws through the material and reaches a wire speed of nearly 300 km/h.
For cutting standard blocks, we recommend our FW4000H Series .
The FW1000H is designed as a production machine for board material and small blocks – for individual customer orders as well as series production of recurring components.
Do not be misled by its compact size: although the FW1000H has a smaller footprint, it is a full production machine for processing board material, designed for continuous use in day-to-day production – for individual cut parts as well as series production of recurring components.
Individual insulation profiles, packaging inserts, cushioning parts, fire-protection strips and other contour-cut parts can be produced directly from available board material to customer order – with different dimensions and contours prepared flexibly. Several individual orders can be grouped and produced togetherwhen required to make better use of the material and reduce waste.
Recurring components can be reproduced at any time using stored cutting programs and manufactured as consistent series parts . Frequently required products can therefore be pre-produced and kept in stock , so common contours and standard dimensions are available more quickly for new orders.
With the FW1000H, you can produce insulation profiles, insulation elements, packaging parts and technical contour parts from boards and small blocks.
Contour-cut profiles and connecting pieces for insulation and construction applications.
Custom insulation parts and contour cuts for construction, plant engineering and technical insulation.
Custom protective packaging and shaped inserts for components and products.
Custom 2D contours and cuts to drawing for technical applications.
The FW1000H processes different foam and insulation boards as well as small material blocks up to 650 mm high.
The FW1000H processes different foam and insulation boards. Typical materials include PE, EPE, PP, EPP, PU, PUR, PIR, XPS and stone wool.
Most of these materials are supplied as standard board stock . Typical formats are 1,250 × 600 mm or longer with the same width. These boards can be processed on every machine in the FW1000H Series .
The FW1000H can also process small material blocks up to 650 mm high .
These can be used, for example, to produce insulation shells, cushioning parts or boards in individual thicknesses. For large production blocks, the FW4000H Series is intended.
The FW1000H processes boards flat or upright – depending on the component, board thickness and quantity.
The board is placed flat on the machine table, aligned and then cut precisely by CNC. This produces profiles, insulation parts, packaging parts or other individual 2D cut parts. Thick boards up to 650 mm highcan also be processed, which in practice corresponds to small material blocks.
Heavy boards remain securely on the table under their own weight and do not require additional fixing. Lightweight boards, however, can be moved by the cutting wire; depending on the material, different fixing methods are available.
For boards that are difficult to secure or for series production, the FW1000H can additionally be equipped with a vacuum table .
Boards are positioned vertically on the machine table and securely fixed with the board holder . This allows the same contour to be cut from several upright boards in a single operation . The number of boards that can be processed at the same time depends on board thickness and the selected working width (1,250, 2,000 or 2,500 mm).
This method is particularly suitable for series production of identical components, for example packaging inserts, insulation profiles, fire-protection strips or technical cut parts.
The right FW1000H model depends primarily on the size of your components.
The main difference between the FW1112H, FW1120H and FW1130H is the length of the machine table . Standard boards measuring 1,250 × 600 mm can be processed on all machines in the FW1000H Series. The standard working width is 1,250 mm; optional widths of 2,000 mm or 2,500 mm are available.
The working width should always be selected as small as possible: as the working width and therefore the wire length increase, cutting quality and possible cutting speed decrease. An oversized working area that is only rarely required unnecessarily limits the machine in everyday production.
The cutting speed depends primarily on material and material density – as well as on contour and material thickness.
For stone wool , typical cutting speeds are approximately 1.0–1.5 m/min.
PIR, PU and PUR are cut at approximately 1.0–2.0 m/min , depending on material density and structure.
For EPP, PE, XPS and other foams, the usable cutting speed likewise depends on material type, density and the required cutting result.
For precise values, we are happy to carry out test cuts with your material in our sample production facility.
The FW1000H cuts with a continuously running, abrasive cutting wire – mechanically and without heat input, matched to the respective material.
The FW1000H uses a fast-running wound cutting wirethat cuts the material mechanically rather than with heat. It consists of several core wires around which another wire is wound. This winding performs the actual sawing process and varies depending on the material, so the cutting wire is selected to suit the material .
The typical wire diameter is 1.3–1.6 mm. Wire type, wire speed and feed rate are matched to the respective material. The cutting wire is a consumable; its actual service life depends on material, wire type and application.
Operation is deliberately straightforward: load the cutting file, position the material, start the cut – the machine handles the rest of the process.
The FW1000H is deliberately designed for straightforward operation. The operator loads the prepared cutting file, positions the material and starts the cut. The machine then carries out the remaining cutting sequence automatically.
Many of our customers learn the individual applications independently in a short time using our instructions, or they use application training with one of our application technicians – either at our facility or on site at your company.
With the FW1000H, CAD, CAM and machine software are clearly separated – so you can continue using existing systems or use our solutions.
A CNC machine is only as good as its software . It has a major influence on how easily and quickly jobs can be prepared and transferred to the machine. Especially with changing contours and recurring series, simple job preparation has a direct impact on everyday production.
For this reason, CAD, CAM and machine software are clearly separatedon the FW1000H. You can continue using existing drawings and suitable CAM systems or use our solutions. Straightforward software reduces the effort required for every job and therefore saves time and money.
A CAM system converts a CAD drawing (DXF or DWG) into a machine program that is loaded on the machine and cut.
With our system, CAD, CAM and machine software are separate , so you can use any suitable CAM software. Our own cloud-based styroCAM Fastwire is included for the first year.
For simple cuts – rectangular contours, cut-outs or mitre cuts – a plugin is available directly on the machine, without requiring CAD or CAM.
The operator enters dimensions and travel movements directly; the machine follows the programmed path and then stops automatically.
For service issues, cnc-multitool provides direct support by phone, email or remote support, with an on-site service technician if required.
If service is required, you receive support directly from cnc-multitool. Many faults and questions can first be analysed together by phone, email or remote support and often resolved immediately.
The FW1000H is designed so that important components are easily accessible and can be replaced quickly when required. After consultation with our service team, many tasks can also be carried out by your own employees. The compact 2-axis control is designed as a replaceable 19-inch unit , and the control PC can be supported remotely via the LAN connection when required.
If an on-site repair is necessary, a service technician carries out the required work at the customer’s premises. The aim is always to keep downtime as short as possible and return the machine to production quickly.
The FW1000H Series is designed for reliable operation in everyday production – with a robust steel construction, powerful wire drive and coordinated operating and safety systems.
The machine frame and worktable are made from welded and painted steel profiles. The stable construction provides the basis for smooth machine operation and repeatable cutting results.
The open machine table is easily accessible and makes it simple to load, align and remove board material.
The continuously running cutting wire is driven by a powerful 4 kW three-phase motor . This allows even firm and high-density foam and insulation materials to be cut without the wire losing speed under load.
The wire speed is controlled directly through the machine software and adjusted to the respective material.
During operation, the cutting wire is pneumatically tensioned. Constant tension prevents sagging and vibration – a prerequisite for clean, smooth cut surfaces without grooves.
If the wire is damaged or an unexpected event occurs in the wire path, the machine stops automatically. After inspection or changing the wire, the program continues from the stop position.
Abrasive cutting generates dust depending on the material, which must be extracted. The cutting arms are therefore enclosed and prepared with two 100 mm extraction connections .
You can use an extraction system supplied by us or a suitable external extraction system.
The operator console is located directly on the FW1000H. Computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse and operating controls are arranged at a fixed workstation and, together with the machine software and control system, form the operating environment of the FW1000H.
The computer system is supplied ready for operation with a current Windows Pro license – computer, interfaces and software are matched to each other. In addition, our computer systems include a second SSD as a backup drive.
This gives the operator direct access to the machine, software and production documents exactly where they are needed – and allows the cutting process to be controlled from the workstation at the machine.

The FW1000H Series is supplied as a complete production solution supplied – including machine, control system and software.
For production use, the FW1000H requires a suitable safety system and a suitable extraction system.
A suitable safety system is required for machine operation.
Depending on the installation and production environment, this can consist of a safety fence and safety light curtains.
The safety system can be ordered from us or provided by the customer in accordance with the applicable safety regulations.
Contour cutting with the continuously running cutting wire produces sawing dust depending on the material and cutting wire. A suitable extraction system is therefore required for production use.
The extraction system can be supplied by us to match the machine or provided by the customer.
A suitably integrated extraction system can be switched on and off through the machine software.
The FW1000H can optionally be adapted to your material – for example with a vacuum table, board holder or material hold-down.
For lightweight boards or boards that are difficult to secure, the FW1000H Series can be equipped with a vacuum table .
The material is held securely on the machine table during cutting. With suitable materials, this can eliminate the need for additional mechanical fixing.
The vacuum table makes machine setup easier, particularly for series production and frequent material changes .
For processing boards positioned upright , the FW1000H Series can be equipped with a board holder.
The holding device secures the board material safely in a vertical position.
This allows several boards to be positioned next to each other and, with the same contour, cut in a single operation .
For material that cannot be held securely either by its own weight or by the vacuum table , the FW1000H Series can be equipped with a Material hold-down .
Two rollers press the material onto the machine table during cutting and keep it securely in position.
This also allows lightweight boards or boards that are difficult to secure to be processed reliably.
In most cases, you can commission the FW1000H yourself – on request, our technicians can handle this directly at your site.
In most cases, the FW1000H Series can be commissioned by the customer. The machine is removed from the pallet, aligned at the intended installation location, the control system and computer are connected, and the machine is then commissioned.
For these steps, we provide documentation and videos and can also assist via remote support if required.
On request, our technicians can carry out the installation and commissioning directly at your site.
In addition, software and application training can be booked at cnc-multitool, at your site or online via TeamViewer.
