EPS INSULATION MATERIALS

More than just an insulation board

EPS and Neopor are among the most widely processed insulation materials. In production, much of it starts with a block – from which come sheets, insulation wedges, profiles and contoured insulation elements, cut cleanly and repeatably with hot wire.

At the same time, demand is growing for prefabricated, ready-to-install components instead of plain cut parts. A cut insulation element is therefore often only the first step: sheets and profiles are then coated – all the way to the ETICS-ready, pre-reinforced insulation board.

This turns a simple cut part into a complete process chain: cutting, forming, coating and producing ready-to-install elements – all from EPS and Neopor.

CUTTING

From the EPS block to the finished sheet

Depending on quantity, degree of automation and component, the right hot wire machine is used – from the gang-cutting line to CNC contour cutting.

Sheets in series – fully automated

The CT5000S gang cutting machine cuts EPS and Neopor blocks into many sheets in a single pass – ideal for series production with consistent dimensions.

For high, continuous throughput there is the CT5000SC as an automated gang-cutting line with integrated material flow.

Sheets – semi-automatic, without a computer

The CT series (CT2000S) cuts several sheets from the block at once with up to 10 hot wires (20 optional).

It works semi-automatically, without a computer or programming – set it up once, then produce recurring cut parts in large quantities.

Profiles, strips, pipe shells and contours – CNC

The CUT5000S is a 2-axis CNC multi-wire hot wire machine with a movable machine table. It cuts profiles, strips, pipe shells, formwork elements and 2D contours from EPS and Neopor blocks.

With 10 cutting wires as standard (up to 20 optional), several identical parts are produced in parallel in one operation – on request with a conveyor belt and roller tables in a controlled material flow.

APPLICATIONS

What you can produce from EPS and Neopor

From the simple insulation board to the profiled special component – straight from the block, independent of standard sizes.

Insulation boards in any thickness

Sheets in any thickness straight from the block – independent of available standard sizes, cut cleanly and repeatably.

Insulation wedges and reveals

Insulation wedges, window reveals and other contoured insulation elements – cut to fit precisely for each installation point.

Profiles, strips and pipe shells

Profiled insulation elements, strip blanks as well as pipe shells and insulation profiles – cut as a 2D contour directly with the CNC multi-wire machine.

COATING

Turning a cut part into a ready-to-install element

When a plain cut part is no longer enough, profiles and sheets are coated directly in the next step – all the way to the ETICS-ready insulation board.

Coating straight insulation profiles

The TC4800CB coats straight insulation profiles and reveal profiles continuously in one pass. Geometry and layer thickness are defined by the template used.

This allows recurring profiles to be turned quickly and evenly into a fully coated component.

Coating insulation boards over the whole surface – ETICS-ready

The PC5000C applies reinforcing mesh and render to the cut board in a single pass. This creates a pre-reinforced, ETICS-ready insulation board.

This moves a work step otherwise carried out by hand on the construction site into the factory – as a prefabricated element ready for further processing.

Frequently asked questions

Which materials do the machines process?

These machines are designed for EPS (Styrofoam) and Neopor. Both are cut with hot wire.

Which machine for insulation boards?

For series production, the CT5000S gang cutting machine or the automated CT5000SC line. For semi-automatic operation without a computer, the CT series (CT2000S).

Which machine for profiles, pipe shells and contours?

The CUT5000S is intended for this – a CNC multi-wire hot wire machine for profiles, strips, pipe shells, formwork elements and 2D contours.

Show more questions

Can I cut sheets in any thickness?

Yes. The sheets are cut directly from the block – you are not dependent on available standard boards and reduce stock and offcuts.

Can I also cut roof insulation?

Yes, but the RoofCut series is made for that. It can cut tapered boards, valley and hip boards and complete tapered roofs.

Does the CT series need a computer?

No. The CT series works semi-automatically: hook in the cutting wires, set speed and wire temperature, produce. A computer or CAM programming is not required.

Can I coat the insulation elements?

Yes. Straight profiles are coated with the TC4800CB, boards and flat elements with the PC5000C – all the way to the pre-reinforced, ETICS-ready insulation board.

What about stone wool or PUR?

Stone wool and PUR cannot be cut with hot wire. These materials are processed with Fastwire.

What about XPS?

XPS can also be cut thermally, but on different machines. XPS is produced only as a sheet, not as a block – so a different machine design is used than when cutting from the EPS or Neopor block.
