Up to 10 cutting wires. Horizontal or vertical wire alignment – for EPS and Neopor blocks up to 3 m.
The CUT4000S is a 2-axis CNC multiwire hot wire cutting machine for production with EPS and Neopor blocks. The material rests on a fixed, open machine table while the cutting arms move along the block.
This machine concept is particularly useful when the block should not be transported through the machine during cutting. It reduces the movement space needed for the material and keeps the machine compact in the production layout.
The cutting arms can be aligned horizontally or vertically. This means blocks can be cut with several wires from the front as well as from above and the machine can be adapted to different production conditions.
With up to 10 cutting wires, several identical parts can be cut at the same time in a single pass. Instead of producing the contours one after another with a single wire, several parts are produced in parallel – output can be increased significantly.
The CUT4000S is primarily a contour cutting machine for multiwire production. It is used wherever identical or recurring contours are to be produced in several parts at the same time.
Produce recurring contours for roller shutter boxes at the same time and reproducibly.
Produce packaging and protective elements as recurring contour cuts in series.
Produce profiles, mouldings and profile geometries with several wires at the same time.
The CUT4000S is designed for production with EPS and Neopor blocks.
The CUT4000S is designed for fixed production sequences with several cutting wires. Depending on the machine model, number of wires and cutting-arm alignment, the machine can be adapted to different manufacturing tasks.
With up to 10 cutting wires, several identical parts can be cut at the same time in a single pass.
Instead of producing contours one after another with a single wire, several parts are produced in parallel and output can be multiplied significantly.
Depending on the machine model, the machine table is rectangular or square. On a square table the block can be turned for length and cross cuts.
With a wire length of 2,500 mm, two standard blocks can also be placed lengthwise and cut at the same time.
The cutting arms can be aligned horizontally or vertically. This means blocks can be cut with several wires from the front as well as from above.
This lets the CUT4000S be adapted to different production conditions and existing manufacturing sequences.
How long does your cutting wire need to be? That is the first important selection question for the CUT4000S. After that, the required working area determines whether a rectangular or square machine table makes sense.
For pure cross cuts a rectangular machine table is often sufficient. If blocks are also to be turned and cut both lengthwise and crosswise, a square machine table is the more suitable version.
With a wire length of 2,500 mm, two standard blocks can also be processed lengthwise at the same time.
The table shows our standard sizes. Further sizes and intermediate dimensions are available on request.

EPS contour cuts are typically cut at about 400–500 mm/min. The big productivity advantage of the CUT4000S comes from cutting with several wires at the same time.
If you cut with 5 wires at once, five identical parts are produced in the same time a single-wire machine makes just one.
At a cutting speed of 400–500 mm/min this corresponds to a calculated production throughput of about 2,000–2,500 mm/min compared with single-wire cutting.
With 10 cutting wires the throughput can increase tenfold accordingly – comparable to a calculated production throughput of a single-wire production of 4,000–5,000 mm/min.
What matters, therefore, is not just the pure cutting speed but how many parts are produced at the same time.
The CUT4000S works with our TiTA64 cutting wire with a diameter of 0.35 to 0.40 mm – developed specifically for hot wire cutting, resistant to glowing heat and tearing.
When heated, the cutting wires expand. The tensioning system absorbs this change in length and keeps the wires taut during cutting.
The cutting wires are hung and changed without tools. Cutting wire and tension springs are wear parts and can be reordered directly from us at any time.
The CUT4000S works with up to 10 heated cutting wires. The number of wires and the wire spacing are set to suit the respective production task.
On machines with up to 2,000 mm wire length, the cutting wires are tensioned as standard by mechanical springs. The springs compensate for the thermal change in length of the heated wires and keep them tensioned during cutting.
The wires can be hung and unhung without tools. This allows the number of wires and the wire spacing to be adapted quickly to different products and cutting tasks.
On machines with up to 2,000 mm wire length, the pneumatic wire tensioning is available as an option. From a wire length of 2,500 mm it is part of the standard equipment.
The pneumatic system ensures an even, defined tension of the cutting wires and keeps them reliably tensioned even over greater wire lengths.
With the CUT4000S the machine is first set up to suit the product: define the number of wires and wire spacing, load the cutting program and start the cut.
Recurring products are saved as cutting programs. Once the wires are set up, the same production sequence can then be reproduced again and again.
During cutting the machine follows the programmed contour path on its own. The operator does not have to stand at the control the whole time and can take on other tasks in production in parallel.
New or changed products are prepared away from the machine. Drawing, CAM and machine operation remain separate work steps, so the tasks can also be distributed among several employees.
The software workflow of the CUT4000S is built in three clearly separated steps: create the drawing → generate the cutting program → cut.
Contours can be created with vector or CAD software. Vector software is suitable for graphic shapes, lettering and simple profiles; CAD software for technical, dimensionally accurate geometries.
The finished drawing is transferred into CAM software. We recommend styroCAM Multiwire, as the software is tailored specifically to multiwire production.
The user specifies, for example, that work should be done with 5 cutting wires. styroCAM automatically calculates the appropriate cutting sequence from this.
It also determines how many wires a first cut must be made with, so that the following cuts can then be carried out with all intended wires. This calculation is done automatically for horizontal and vertical cuts.
The multiwire strategy therefore does not have to be calculated manually and built up cut by cut.
The finished cutting program is transferred to the CUT4000S. At the machine the job is loaded, the start position is set and cutting is started.
The machine control then works through the generated cutting path on its own.
styroCAM is recommended but not mandatory. Other CAM systems can also be used if they generate a suitable ISO G-code for the machine control.
If service is needed, we support you directly by phone, email or remote maintenance. Many questions about the machine, control or software can be resolved this way without a technician on site.
In the event of a fault we help with troubleshooting and narrowing down the cause. Required spare and wear parts can be obtained directly from us and shipped at short notice.
Many components are designed so that, after consultation, they can also be replaced by your own technical staff.
If a remote solution is not possible, a service technician can be deployed on site if needed. The goal is always to keep downtime as short as possible.
The CUT4000S is designed as a multiwire production machine for daily use with large EPS and Neopor blocks. What matters is robust material handling, flexible cutting directions and high output.
Large EPS and Neopor blocks are heavy and unwieldy. A 3-metre block can weigh around 200 kg and is therefore usually brought to the machine with a forklift.
The block is placed directly on the fixed, open machine table and then moved and aligned on the table. The table is designed for this robust production environment and built solidly enough for placing and moving heavy blocks.
On large machines the operator steps directly onto the machine table to push, turn and align the block into position. The cutting wire is then moved to the block and cutting is started.
After cutting, the finished parts or block sections are taken off the table again and the next block is placed.
The cutting arms of the CUT4000S can be aligned horizontally or vertically. This means the block can be cut from the front or from above depending on the product.
Large components such as roller shutter boxes are often cut from the front. Small and narrow parts such as mouldings and profiles, on the other hand, are better produced from above.
If many small parts are cut from the front, sections that have already been separated can sag downwards or shift against one another under their own weight. This can lead to dimensional deviations.
When cutting from above, the individual parts rest stably on the machine table during the cutting process. This improves dimensional accuracy and enables safe production even with several cutting wires.
The CUT4000S works with up to 10 cutting wires at the same time. This means up to 10 identical parts can be produced in the same time that a single cutting wire would cut just one.
The actual cutting speed of the wire stays the same. The production advantage comes from producing several parts in parallel in a single pass.
With suitable products, output can therefore increase up to tenfold compared with single-wire cutting. Especially for recurring series this is one of the biggest productivity advantages of the CUT4000S.
The cutting arms of the CUT4000S are rotatable. This changes the effective spacing between the cutting wires without having to reposition the individual wires.
If the wires are hung, for example, with a 100 mm spacing, turning the cutting arms also allows panels of 80 or 65 mm thickness to be cut. The set wire arrangement is retained.
Especially with frequently changing dimensions this saves considerable set-up time: cut, turn the arms to the required angle and start the next job – instead of unhanging and repositioning several wires individually.
Less set-up time means more available production time. The machine can switch between different dimensions more quickly and produce more jobs and more parts in the same working time.

Yes. The CUT4000S can be operated with one or several cutting wires. For each job, only the wires that are actually needed are hung.
No. The cutting wires are positioned manually according to the required product spacing. For frequently changing panel thicknesses, the rotatable cutting arms can additionally be used to change the effective wire spacing without repositioning the individual wires.
No. The CUT4000S is a 2-axis multiwire machine for parallel cuts and contours. For tapered or twisted cuts with independently moved wire ends, a 4-axis hot wire machine such as the CUT3000S is required.
No. The wires can be hung with different spacings to suit the desired product. This allows the wire arrangement to be adapted to the respective production task.
Multiwire production is designed above all to cut identical contours several times at once. All wires in use follow the same programmed cutting path; different contours therefore cannot be run independently with individual wires.
The CUT4000S is designed for polystyrene (EPS) and Neopor. It is not intended for PU, PUR, PIR, rock wool or glass wool – our CNC fastwire series is intended for those.
Depending on the model, the CUT4000S works with wire lengths from 2,000 to 3,000 mm at a working height of 1,250 mm. Standard blocks with a cross-section of about 1,250 × 1,250 mm can be processed up to 3,000 mm in length; with a 2,500 mm wire length, two standard blocks can be placed lengthwise at the same time.
Yes. The rotatable cutting arms let you change the effective wire spacing: from a 100 mm spacing, for example, panels of 80 or 65 mm thickness can also be cut without repositioning the individual wires.
EPS contour cuts are typically cut at about 400–500 mm/min per wire. The real productivity advantage comes from cutting with several wires at the same time – with up to 10 wires the output is multiplied accordingly in the same time.
We recommend styroCAM Multiwire, as the software is tailored specifically to multiwire production and calculates the cutting sequence automatically. styroCAM is recommended but not mandatory – any CAM system that generates suitable ISO G-code can be used.
Up to 2,000 mm wire length the wires are tensioned as standard by mechanical springs (pneumatic wire tensioning optional). From 2,500 mm wire length the pneumatic wire tensioning is part of the standard equipment – then a compressed-air connection is required.
You usually commission the CUT4000S yourself – for this we provide documents and videos and support you via remote service if needed. On request, our technicians handle installation and commissioning directly at your site.
The CUT4000S is built to order as a production machine. The production and delivery time is approx. 6–8 weeks after order confirmation – depending on model, equipment and capacity. We agree the exact date with you when you enquire.
Yes. Cutting wire and tension springs are wear parts, can be reordered directly from us at any time and changed without tools.
