4 CNC axes. One cutting wire. Open machine table. For daily production.
The CUT3000S is built for daily production with EPS and Neopor blocks. What matters is not only the cut, but the complete flow: load the material, align it, cut, clear, next order.
The open steel table can be loaded with a forklift and is so stable that the operator steps onto it and moves, turns and aligns the block directly on the machine. The block does not have to be positioned to the millimetre relative to the wire – the wire moves to the block.
Four independently controllable CNC axes cut straight, tapered and skewed contours. Between cuts the machine positions at up to 6 m/min, so the next order starts quickly.
The CUT3000S is an investment that pays for itself in daily operation.
The biggest lever is in-house production: contours, profiles and cut parts are made in your own workshop instead of being bought in. This saves the supplier's margin and makes you independent of standard sizes and lead times – you respond directly to orders and stay ready to deliver, without a large stock.
The machine also pays off on material: from the whole block you cut exactly what the order needs and arrange several contours material-efficiently in one program. The hot wire cuts without force and with a narrow kerf – keeping waste low.
In everyday production, throughput counts: after the start, the CUT3000S runs the program independently while the operator sets up, removes finished parts or loads a second machine. Together with fast positioning and multi-part production, this lowers the time – and the cost – per part.
And the running costs stay low: a low-maintenance toothed-belt drive, tool-free wire changes and low wire consumption ensure that the machine runs economically for years.
The CUT3000S is not limited to a single application. From EPS and Neopor blocks you produce contours, profiles, models and special shapes for a wide range of industries.
Custom formwork shapes, recesses and special geometries for concrete components and architecture.
Large-format letters, lettering and logos for advertising, events and individual projects.
Cornices, window surrounds and facade profiles as well as other decorative architectural elements.
The CUT3000S processes Styrofoam, Neopor and XPS. Styrofoam and Neopor are cut mainly as block material, XPS predominantly as sheet.
Standard blocks of Styrofoam and Neopor have a cross-section of about 1,250 × 1,050 mm and can be processed on the CUT3000S – depending on the model – up to a length of 3,000 mm.
From the block you produce contours, profiles, sheets, block sections or the raw material for further production steps.
The block can be moved, turned and realigned on the table for the next cut.
XPS should generally be cut with the shortest possible cutting wire. Sheets positioned upright can also be processed on larger CUT3000S machines.
With longer cutting wires, waves often occur. For reproducible production with flat-lying XPS we therefore recommend machines with a maximum wire length of 2,000 mm.
The CUT3000S processes whole blocks. Depending on the order, you cut the finished part directly or first sheets, block sections and other intermediate products for the following production steps.
The block lies on the machine table and is cut directly. Several contours can be arranged material-efficiently in one CNC program and cut in a single pass.
After the start, the machine runs the programmed cutting path independently. During this time the operator can take on other tasks, remove finished parts, prepare new blocks or load other machines.
Standard blocks are first cut to the required starting format. This produces sheets, block sections and other intermediate products for the next production step.
Further processing takes place directly on the CUT3000S or on a smaller cutting machine.
With the optional multi-wire equipment, the CUT3000S works with two cutting wires simultaneously. This allows two parallel cuts to be made in one operation.
The multi-wire option is only available in combination with the Y extension to 1,550 mm.
With an optional rotary axis, the workpiece is rotated under CNC control during cutting. This allows round and rotationally symmetrical contours to be cut directly from the block.
Depending on the application, a rotary table for upright workpieces or a lathe axis for horizontal workpieces is used.
With four independently controlled CNC axes, the two ends of the cutting wire can follow different contours.
This produces tapered and skewed shapes directly from the block.
With strongly tapered or skewed cuts with large axis differences, the wire length changes during the cut. For such cases, the optional automatic wire tensioner actively compensates for this change in length and keeps the wire tension constant.
With hot wire cutting it is not true that large machines are better than small ones; rather, the machine has to suit the application and your actual production.
What matters is material, regular block lengths and the matching wire length.
How long is your block? For block lengths up to 2,000 mm, choose a 2-metre machine. For standard blocks 2,500 mm long, a 2.5-metre machine is the right choice. A 3-metre machine makes sense if this block length is a regular part of your production.
Which material do you cut? For Styrofoam and Neopor, the machine size depends mainly on block length and the required working area. For XPS, the wire length is also decisive: for flat-lying XPS we recommend machines with a maximum wire length of 2,000 mm.
The table shows our standard sizes. Further sizes and intermediate dimensions are available on request.

The cutting speed is determined by material and cutting wire – not by the size of the machine.
For EPS and Neopor, the typical cutting speed is about 450–500 mm/min, for XPS about 350–400 mm/min.
The hot wire melts through the material without mechanical pressure. This process takes its time – a larger machine therefore does not cut faster.
It is different for positioning: at up to 6 m/min the CUT3000S moves quickly to the next start position. This reduces idle times between cuts and speeds up order changes.
The CUT3000S works with our TiTA64 cutting wire (0.35 mm) – developed specifically for hot wire cutting, resistant to glowing and tearing.
When heated, the wire expands. Tension springs absorb this change in length and keep it taut during cutting.
The wire is changed without tools in a few minutes. Cutting wire and tension springs are wear parts and can be reordered directly from us at any time.
Operating the CUT3000S follows a clear, recurring production sequence: create the drawing, generate the cutting program, start the order.
CAD, CAM and machine operation are separate from one another. This means tasks can be distributed across the production team and not every employee has to master the entire process.
While the CUT3000S runs the programmed cutting path independently, the operator can already prepare the next order, provide material or load another machine.
Changes are made via the drawing and the newly generated cutting program. Elaborate programming directly at the machine is not required. This keeps the workflows clear and new employees are trained in quickly.
For the CUT3000S you are not tied to a particular system for drawing and CAD software. The geometry is created in the software that best suits the respective application.
For letters, logos and graphic applications, CorelDRAW is often used. It is especially widespread in advertising agencies, exhibition construction and signage. Data exchange works very well via the EPS format.
Technical and dimensionally accurate geometries are usually created in AutoCAD or a comparable CAD software. For more complex free 3D geometries, Rhino is often used, especially in the props, set as well as film and television sector.
With styroCAM, the cutting programs for the CUT3000S are created from the drawing data. The software supports both 2D cuts and independent 4-axis cuts and generates the required ISO G-code.
The finished cutting program is loaded into the machine software. From there the CUT3000S is controlled directly: approach the start position, zero the axes, start the order and monitor the cutting process.
In the event of service, we support you directly by phone, email or remote maintenance. Many questions can be resolved this way without a technician on site.
The CUT3000S is built to be low-maintenance and service-friendly. Important components are easily accessible and, after consultation, can also be replaced by your own technical staff.
The complete control unit is designed as a compact unit: undo four screws, disconnect the plug connections – it is removed in a few minutes. It can be sent in for inspection or replaced by a prepared replacement control unit.
We keep spare parts in stock and ship them at short notice when needed. The goal is always to keep downtime as short as possible and to get the machine back into production quickly.
From its heavy steel construction to the drive, the CUT3000S is consistently engineered for daily production – robust, low-maintenance and built for years of continuous operation.
The open, walk-on steel table is accessible from all sides and forms the heart of the CUT3000S.
Large blocks can be loaded with a forklift. The operator can step onto the table and move, turn and realign the block directly on the machine for the next cut.
The block does not have to be positioned to the millimetre – the wire moves to the block. This makes handling large EPS and Neopor blocks fast and straightforward in everyday production.
The axes run on permanently lubricated linear guides and are driven by steel-reinforced toothed belts. This enables fast positioning movements of up to 6 m/min, smooth changes of direction and low-maintenance operation.
Styrofoam particles and cutting residues are uncritical for this drive concept. The machine is easy to clean and requires no additional regular lubrication of the linear guides.
Four independently controllable CNC axes move the two ends of the cutting wire in parallel or independently of one another.
Guided in parallel, they produce straight cuts and classic 2D contours. Guided independently, the two wire ends – left and right – follow different contours.
This also makes tapered and skewed 4-axis cuts possible, straight from the block.
Anyone producing extremely skewed shapes with large axis differences can extend the machine with the optional automatic wire tensioner. It compensates even the most extreme changes in wire length and keeps the wire tension constant – regardless of how skewed the cut is.
4-axis CNC control: It controls the machine; the CNC cutting programs are transferred and executed via the Windows PC. Via the integrated relay box, the cutting wire can be switched on and off directly from the machine software.
Power supply with automatic current control: It supplies the cutting wire with the required power and keeps the heating power constant even when the wire length changes. Control and power supply are built as a compact unit and are quickly accessible in the event of service.
The cutting wire is held between the cutting arms by a mechanical spring tension.
The cutting wire can be hooked in and out without tools. Depending on the type of cut, different springs are used: 2 hard springs for parallel cuts, 2 soft springs for independent cuts with a change in wire length.

Every CUT3000S is assembled, adjusted and function-tested at our factory. For transport, the machine is dismantled into suitable assemblies and packed. Since we keep all components in stock and pre-produce machines, the CUT3000S is usually available at short notice.
A Windows PC is required to operate the CUT3000S. Machine software and styroCAM are already included in the scope of delivery.
You can use an existing Windows PC or order the CUT3000S with our ready-prepared computer package.
The package comprises PC, monitor, keyboard and mouse. The machine software is already installed and set up – connect and start. styroCAM is cloud software and runs without installation directly in the browser.
A second SSD serves as a mirror or backup drive. In the event of a drive failure, the operating system, machine software and machine data are therefore quickly available again.
As standard the CUT3000S works with 4 CNC axes. With an optional rotary table or lathe axis, the machine is extended – with the corresponding equipment – by a fully-fledged 5th CNC axis. Further options adapt the machine to your production.
With the optional rotary table, the workpiece is rotated about the vertical axis during cutting. This allows round and rotationally symmetrical shapes such as upright columns and cones to be produced.
The rotary table is controlled via the CNC control and integrated directly into the program sequence. You create the matching cutting programs with styroCAM.
With the optional lathe axis, the workpiece is rotated horizontally about its longitudinal axis. This allows long rotationally symmetrical shapes such as columns, balusters and round profiles to be produced.
The lathe axis is also controlled via the CNC control and programmed with styroCAM.
For applications with a greater working height, the CUT3000S can be equipped with an extended Y axis of 1,550 mm instead of the standard 1,250 mm.
The larger Y axis extends the available working area and is at the same time a prerequisite for the optional multi-wire equipment with two cutting wires.
With the optional multi-wire equipment, the CUT3000S can work with two cutting wires simultaneously. This allows two parallel cuts to be made in one operation.
The multi-wire option is only available in combination with the Y extension to 1,550 mm.
Active system for automatically compensating changes in wire length during 4-axis cuts with large axis differences, e.g. with tapered or strongly skewed geometries.
The wire tension is continuously monitored by sensors. During the cutting process, the cutting wire is repositioned by motor so that any changes in length are automatically compensated and the wire tension is kept constant.
Cutting wire and tension springs are wear parts and can be changed quickly and without tools when needed.
In normal production operation the wire lasts a very long time – many customers need less than 100 metres of cutting wire per year.
The change takes about 2 minutes. Replacement wire and matching tension springs are available directly from us.
The CUT3000S is prepared for simple self-assembly. No special technical prior knowledge is required for setup.
On site, essentially the machine table is assembled and the control unit and computer are connected. The other components are prepared and connected on a plug-and-play basis.
An assembly video guides you step by step through assembly and commissioning. If you have questions, we additionally support you by phone or remote maintenance.
On request, a service technician from cnc-multitool carries out assembly and commissioning directly on site.
The delivery time is usually approx. 2–4 weeks. We keep all components in stock and pre-produce machines – so delivery times stay short and plannable. We confirm the exact date with the quote.
The hot wire separates the material without mechanical pressure. With correctly set wire temperature and cutting speed, smooth and even cut surfaces are produced.
The cutting gap is typically about 1–2 mm. In the CAM software the cutting gap can be taken into account so that the finished contour is cut to size.
Hot wire cutting produces no sawdust, because the material is separated with a heated wire and not mechanically sawn or milled.
With its four CNC axes, the CUT3000S can cut straight, tapered and skewed contours. Freely modelled 3D surfaces as with a CNC milling machine cannot be produced with a straight cutting wire; for rotationally symmetrical geometries an optional rotary table or lathe axis is available.
If you do not yet have a material supplier, we are happy to help you choose. Depending on your location, we can name a suitable supplier or help with material procurement.
Yes. The CUT3000S is built as a production platform for daily commercial use – for whole Styrofoam blocks, large cut parts and the multi-part production of identical parts. An open, walk-on steel table, a robust drive and four independent CNC axes ensure stable workflows in continuous operation.
As standard, the CUT3000S works with four independently controllable CNC axes. With an optional rotary table or lathe axis it is extended by a fully-fledged 5th CNC axis – the control is upgraded accordingly. This makes it possible to produce rotationally symmetrical parts; without a rotary axis the machine surface stays clear.
Yes. With the optional multi-wire equipment, the CUT3000S cuts with two wires simultaneously – two parallel contours in one operation. The multi-wire option is only available in combination with the Y extension to 1,550 mm.
With extremely skewed cuts with large axis differences, the wire length changes during the cut. The optional automatic wire tensioner compensates for these changes in length and keeps the wire tension constant – regardless of how skewed the cut is.
